Dental implant timeline: from first scan to final crown
Quick answer

Most implant treatments take three to six months from placement to final crown, because the bone must bond with the implant. International patients usually plan two trips.

Trip one: planning and placement

A 3D scan guides placement. The implant is placed under local anaesthesia, and a temporary tooth can often be fitted in the front of the mouth.

Healing

Over three to six months the bone integrates with the implant. You can travel home and continue normal life.

Trip two: the final crown

A digital scan is taken and a metal-free ceramic crown is fitted, usually within a few days.

Key takeaways
  • Two trips for most patients
  • 3–6 months healing
  • 3D planning for accurate placement

Frequently asked questions
